About Shorewood

Population
A special census of the Village of Shorewood has been conducted. According to the Federal Census Bureau, as of October 24, 2003, the population was 13,822 and the housing count was 3,889. These numbers represent "Official Census Statistics."

Location
Located at the confluence of Interstate 55 (on old, historic Route 66), Interstate 80, and Illinois Routes 52 and 59, the Village of Shorewood is Conveniently located near Chicago and Joliet.

Shorewood is part of the Regional DuPage River Bike Trail, which is in the development process. Organized team sports include youth soccer, baseball, softball and football. Three public golf courses are located within 5 minutes of the village. Shorewood stands committed to the further development of recreational facilities for our residents.

Shorewood is committed to the quality of their education with one of the most highly respected Kindergarten through 8th grade school systems in the state of Illinois.
